Barn wood / stainless steel kitchen island

We've had great feedback on our kitchen island design, including winning a blue ribbon at the Randolph Street market in Chicago. It features copper feet, vintage wheels, a large vintage wire basket which we fitted with drawer pulls, a stainless steel top and copper piping on either end, which act as towel holders. The entire piece is built with Wisconsin barn wood and can be replicated in a number of sizes to fit your needs.

28" wide x 45" long x 40" tall

1850’s barn wood sofa table

This unique barn wood sofa table is a JVic original. We’ve combined 1850’s barn wood with wrought iron porch supports salvaged from a Wisconsin farm stead to create this one of a kind conversation piece. Quarter inch glass lies over the top of the inset geometric iron support and the grey weathered wood, with patches of green, white and red paints used at various times over the years, is protected with a satin finish. The top is perfect for displaying cherished family pictures and the lower self is wide enough to display a number of larger items.

Barn wood lanterns

Our new barn wood lanterns are perfect for holding flame less candles and greens. Each lantern is just under 10" wide at the base and come in heights of 10", 12" and 14". The top is easily removable if the glass ever needs to be replaced.

The "Tele"

Our latest creation is a curial cabinet replicating an old phone booth. We’ve turned recycled vintage cabinet doors into the side windows, using the cut out raised panels as decorative pieces on the lower half of the side walls. The front doors, which were originally hinged doors from an 1800’s home in Aurora, still maintain their original mustard colored patina and have been converted into bi fold doors to access the interior shelves. The exterior charcoal paint has been distressed and finished off with a coat of dark wax and poly urethane. The interior, is painted in a cottage white and has a halogen light on the ceiling to help show off your displays. The cabinet measures 84” tall x 26” deep x 33” wide

A bit about us

After spending a combined sixty years developing and honing our individual talents in the home remodeling and interior design fields, my partner Vicki Whitt and I decided to combine our experiences and open Jvic Restoration in 2012. Although our backgrounds are similar, our perspective and experience are diverse in nature.  Where I spend a majority of my time designing floor plans and executing the construction of those plans, Vicki spends a majority of her time bringing the finished product to a unique conclusion, with her keen artistic eye.  Although these individual perspectives or visions can lead to debate, hashing out those differences pushes us to be better, which ultimately leads to a finished product that goes above and beyond.

Mike Jessen, Co owner

Welcome

Jvic Restoration is your destination for eye catching functional home décor, created from a combination of recycled materials. Our passion to be creative compels us to always ask “What if?” not “Why not” when trying to determine how unique vintage pieces found, may be incorporated into a design. This mindset has freed us from producing the “Same old same old” so often found in today’s market place. Our aim with each piece envisioned, is to create high quality, hand crafted originality, using a variety of old materials in new and interesting ways that will grab your attention.
